28th June 2010...

Good news for all Serato heads!  My First Moth releases are now available digitally at www.junodownload.com...  To download your favourite My First Moth tunes just go to the release pages and click on “listen / buy mp3” where you’ll be redirected to the download page.  Just remember the download releases will be coming out a bit later than the vinyl, so if you want your beats upfront you’ll still have to cop the wax!!


21st June 2010...

Today sees the release of the new Omas single, “What You’re Looking For / I’m So Dizzy”!  Neatly following on from last year’s whitelabel booty 7”, Omas drops some summery soulful funk vibes alongside a JB’s style cut and paste nugget!  Fans of the record include Sneaky (Fingathing), DJ Asparagus & DJ Simbad (Raw Fusion / GAMM), DJ Shepdog (Nice Up!), and Jon Kennedy, who deserves a special mention as he is soon to be appearing on a future My First Moth release!!  We’ll have more details about that soon, in the meantime you can cop the new Omas 7” from all the usual stockists as well as the My First Moth shop here!


15th April 2010...

Anyone who lives around Manchester will no doubt be aware of the Neighbourhood club nights that have been happening at various venues around the city recently. The nights are a collaboration between myfirstmoth and a number of other collectives including Drum Music, Mind On Fire, Dub Smugglers, Family Gathering and At Large, and for the next one we’re throwing a big party at Islington Mill in Salford on Friday 23rd April!! 8th March 2010...

The new DJ Mischief single “Flaming chestrug / 1986” hits the shops today!  As we said in last month’s post (see below) the record’s been getting mad love from a host of DJs both on the radio and in the clubs, and we’ve just had word that DJ Format and Craig Charles (BBC 6 Music) have been dropping it in their sets as well!  You can buy the record from the myfirstmoth shop or from all the usual shops Juno, Phonica, Chemical, Piccadilly and Fat City to name a few...


10th February 2010...

myfirstmoth have just had our first Radio 1 play!!  Last night Gilles Peterson played DJ Mischief’s “1986” which is coming out very soon on 7” vinyl... You can listen to the show in full on the BBC iplayer here before 17th February. Other DJs who have been caning the record include: Jon Kennedy, DJ Shepdog (Nice Up!), DJ Simbad (Raw Fusion) and DJ Lefto, make sure you grab your copy when it hits the shops on 8th March!  It’s available from all the usual stockists as well as at the myfirstmoth records shop here!

Happy new year!!!!! Its been an exciting year at myfirstmoth, being our first year of venturing into vinyl releases!  Big thankyous to everyone who’s shown their support this year in particular Jon Kennedy, Nostalgia 77, Miles (Breakestra), Sneaky (Fingathing) who all got in touch to tell us they’re feeling the first few releases!

13th November 09...

myfirstmoth artists Omas and DJ Mischief have both had tracks included on the new compilation put together by the Mind On Fire collective. The collective consists of some of the most passionate, hard working people in the Manchester music scene, and they have just celebrated 5 years of putting on events and releasing compilations supporting independent artists. Their latest compilation features exclusive tracks from a load of Mancunian musicians and beatmakers, and is available as an exclusive free download from their website here! 


12th October 09...

Today sees the release of Omas’s debut release for myfirstmoth records!  The limited 7” vinyl features some quality golden era style beats over a few cheeky accapellas you might just recognise... It’s available to buy from Kudos, Fat City, Piccadilly Records, Juno, Boxdub, Phonica, Chemical and all other good record shops!

Also gotta give a quick shout to everyone who’s shown support for the DJ Mischief 7”... We’ve had loads of great feedback and apparently it’s been getting played everywhere from London and Manchester to New Zealand and New York!  And for anyone who’s not copped it yet there’s still a few copies floating around the usual stockists.
